Overview
The timeline module is a graphical representation of the subtitles.
The active title will be in green with the others subdued but still visible.
It can be displayed full width by selecting one of the menu items “View/Workspaces/Default”, “View/Workspaces/Player and timeline” or “View/Workspaces/Mirror default”.
It can be displayed the same width as the Player by selecting one of the menu items “View/Workspaces/Minimal timeline”, “View/Workspaces/Full Overview”, “View/Workspaces/Mirror minimal timeline”. or “View/Workspaces/Mirror full overview”.
Custom Workspaces can be created from any of these variations to display the Timeline and other modules as you prefer. See “Menu/Workspaces” section for details.
There are options for what is displayed on the Timeline subtitle clips. Access these options via the “3 dots” icon. These options are also in the menu item “Options/Preferences/Timeline”. You can also choose to show or hide the waveform.
In the Timeline title bar, there are buttons to change the zoom setting. 10s, 15s, 30s, 45s are pre-set zooms. The 10s refers to 10 seconds and the width of the Timeline will be set to this length of time.
The magnifying glass icons will zoom in or out in pre-set increments.
The “square with 1 line” icon is used to zoom to a pre-set “comfortable” view.
The “square with 4 lines” icon is used to zoom out to the maximum amount.
You can also use Ctrl+MouseScrollWheel to dynamically zoom in and out of the timeline. The mouse cursor can be anywhere on the screen for this to work.
If any text is displayed on the timeline, it will only display when the zoom is set to a certain amount. Zooming out further makes the text disappear, for clarity.
Clicking the mouse anywhere on the timeline with any settings applied will make the video jump to that moment in time.
