When is the Online Editor being updated, and how long will the deployment take?

Saturday 11th March at 14:00GMT (London). We are anticipating a maximum of 4 hours.


Will the system be completely inaccessible during the deployment period, or will some functionality still be available?

Meta will be completely inaccessible during this deployment period. You will not be able to log in to the system.


What will happen to my current projects and tasks?

All active/open projects and tasks that may have been assigned to you will remain untouched. After the deployment, you will be able to continue working as before – and these tasks continue using current/old Online Editor.


When will I start using the new Online Editor?

After the deployment, we will begin phasing in the new Online Editor. This will likely mean that you will start seeing the new Online Editor being applied for any new projects that you are assigned to work on.


Why is the Meta Online Editor being updated?

At EIKON, we are committed to providing our users with the best possible tools and resources to help them with their work. After extensive feedback and evaluation, we recognized that the previous Online Editor had limitations in terms of functionality and customization, which made it difficult for users to complete their tasks efficiently. We also recognized that the old system did not meet the evolving needs of our clients, users, and their workflows.

In response, we made the decision to update and enhance the Online Editor from the ground up. This new version will provide an improved user experience and a host of new features that will help streamline your work and provide greater flexibility and customization. The new system is designed to meet the changing needs of our customers and users.

We understand that change can be challenging, but we are confident that the new Online Editor will meet and exceed your expectations. Our team is available to support and assist you during this transition, and we welcome any feedback or questions you may have.


Why is the rest of the Meta platform not being updated?

EIKON are committed to improving our platform to better meet the needs of our users. While we understand that there may be other areas of the platform that could also benefit from updates, our decision to update the Online Editor specifically right now, was based on several factors.

Firstly, we recognize that the Online Editor was one of the most heavily used features in the platform, and it was clear from user feedback that it was in need of significant improvements. By focusing on this area, we were able to deliver the most impactful updates in a timely manner.

Secondly, we wanted to ensure a smooth and successful deployment of the new system and limiting the scope of the updates to the Online Editor, for now, helped us minimize the risk of further disruptions or impact to other areas of the platform.

We are committed to providing our customers and users with a platform that meets their needs and supports their workflows, and as such we do intend to fully redevelop and redesign the rest of the Meta system in the future.


What will happen to all my custom Shortcuts and user preferences from the old player?

How do I learn about the new Online Editor features?

We have created an online support portal that you can access at any point. This will provide you with a collection of articles and user guides that should be a good starting point to understanding the Online Editor. Whether you are new to Meta, or an experienced user, we believe the new Online Editor will feel very similar in use – whilst offering enhances intuitive features that will enrich your experience. https://help.meta.eikongroup.io/


What support resources will be available to me if I experience any issues with the new system?

If you have any project, task, or deadline related questions – please direct your query to the Project Manager of the task you have been assigned. You can find the Project Manager email address by selecting ‘Info’ on a task that has been assigned to you.

Will my login credentials and access levels remain the same with the new system?

The URL to access Meta (https://meta.eikongroup.co.uk/), your username and password will remain unchanged following the deployment.
