We're thrilled to introduce the most recent enhancements to Meta's Online Editor. These updates, influenced by your valuable feedback, bring a host of new features and improvements to elevate your editing experience.

In addition to the items listed below, this update also encompasses various user interface enhancements, improved text clarity for certain settings, and minor performance optimizations.

Here's an overview of the new features introduced:

Improved Title Validation logic - Min/Max Values

Where certain clients instruct various guidelines and specification to the Subtitle rules - we ensure these are enforced within your Online Editor task. For example, if NETFLIX guidelines state that no Subtitle can exceed 42 Characters per Second, previously the CPS count would be set and locked to 42.

In this new version, 42 CPS is set as the MAX value - meaning you can change this to any CPS you require, but will not be able to exceed this value.

HTML Formatting remains when copy/pasting

In previous versions, text formatting like bold, underline, and italics was stripped when pasted. With this latest update, the formatting information is preserved when text is copy/pasted.

New Help Section

We've introduced a new Help section within the Online Editor, offering a wealth of tutorials, guides, and reference materials. You can access it conveniently from within the Online Editor itself, via the Help menu.

New Empty Subtitles Cycle shortcut

Now, you can utilize the 'Select first empty subtitle' to cycle through every empty subtitle without any text entry, not just the first one.

Autocorrection - Remove Line-breaks: Speaker hyphen exception

We've enhanced the 'Remove line breaks if character/title is less than...' autocorrection rule. It now excludes lines of text that begin with a hyphen, ensuring better handling of speaker tags/hyphens.

Improved Line-break autocorrection behaviour

When inserting text to an existing subtitle, auto-correction line-break logic has been improved, and text will now wrap correctly at the users selected Autocorrection value.

Improved and updated default Shortcuts

We've revamped our default shortcuts to provide a more user-friendly experience, reducing unintended browser-related issues and ensuring greater intuitiveness while navigating the platform.

Comments retained between Version Updates

Your comments left against specific subtitles, will now persist throughout the version update process. This ensures enhanced visibility and tracking, allowing you to maintain a comprehensive record of all comments, even as we move between versions of the project.

Numerous Bug Fixes and improvements

Our software and development team has been hard at work addressing various bugs and making multiple improvements behind the scenes. These enhancements contribute to a more stable, responsive, and user-friendly experience in the Online Editor.
